New Year - New Recording

I won't use the word song - I'm not even remotely close to writing songs yet, nor should I be!

But that said, I do think I'm making some progress (always push/pull with me).  I think there is more balance and a little more structure coming through in these.  I still find it incredibly hard, mostly because I can't play like I want to so it limits what I can write and record hugely.  Most importantly it shows up in the painful timing issues.  I'm very frustrated at that, these tunes are fun but they're NOT me - I guess patience, practice and time are the only things that will solve that.

This one is a funny one and I did learn a lot from it because I started out with a guitar rhythm and chord structure and while the chords stuck the guitar disappeared in it's original state as did the drums I laid down over the guitar and the bass.  In the end everything was worked around the melody but because I didn't start with the melody and work straight it was a very difficult process however after a large number of reworks and edits I ended up with this - nothing like what I intended but could be a lot worse all things considered.

Oh and this time the fills weren't edited over the drums, so that's a step forward and I did have great fun on the bass guitar! :)  My soloing still sucks!
