Bringing It All Together - Guitar

AI mentioned yesterday that there are 3 songs I'm working on and gave you a taste of the piano number.  A quick update on that, today I discovered the missing chord!  What I mean by that is it felt like most of the structure was there but because there is so much of it based around G and C it needed something more in the chorus to break it out to somewhere new and today I found the chord and it's a gorgeous F#m.  It puts a surprise element in there and totally messes with your head but sounds FANTASTIC! Well I think so haha!!  Still a long way to go, I need to work on the verse structure to add some variety in there and I've got lots of ideas on that to work through to decide whether I want to keep it more simple so I can add drums guitar etc or whether to make it all piano and take you on a real journey with a softer backing track.  Decisions decisions!!

Ok so back on track for today.  Here is taste of the guitar one - at the moment it's just me noodling but it's the story here that's important to me,  I looooooooooove it!  Yeah yeah I know it's dark and moody - but it's extra dark and moody and I think this could be very fun to work with.

In this noodle you can see I've started pulling together everything I've been working on.  Timing, phrasing, storytelling, double stops, dynamics, faster sections, pulled back sections, slurs & a whole bunch more.  I'm not saying it's great guitar playing (do you think I'll ever think my playing is good?!) but it's a big step for me.  It's the first time I've sat and just played what I wanted to say on the guitar and I'm feeling so much better because of it.  I'm sure that'll be temporary as I'll see the next goal up ahead real soon but it's sooooo cool to be able to play like this, a lovely lovely feeling and worth all the effort.

There is a big job ahead to turn it from a noodle over a loop into a song but I can hear something very cool in this and I'm determined to pull it out.  So for your enjoyment here is my endless noodling - it's 6 1/2 minutes so I hope you do enjoy it or my deepest apologies!
